From full moon to twenty a day
HexCorp used to release once a month, on the night of the full moon, with three senior wizards and a goat in attendance. Every release was an event. Most of them were also incidents.
The team started by moving every incantation into versioned spells with automated validation, so nothing reached production without passing its tests in a staging realm. Canary casting followed: each change now reaches a small share of customers first, and rolls back on its own if the signals turn.
Today HexCorp deploys twenty times a day, at any phase of the moon. The senior wizards review changes instead of performing them, and the goat has been reassigned to a less stressful role.
